Peri Schwartz, based out of New York, began her studies at Boston University’s School of Fine Arts, and continued on to Queens College to receive her Masters of Fine Arts. Realism and abstraction come together in her pieces as she works directly with her subjects depicting them with deliberate linear strokes. The contained settings of her most recent work, “Studio Interiors”, engage the viewers with dynamic, flattened compositions. In paintings, prints and drawings, Schwartz explains that she focuses on composition and the interplay of color, light and space.
Peri Schwartz is included in collections internationally, among them the British Museum, in London, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., and Kupferstichkabinett—Staatliche Museum of Berlin.
