Whatever Meredyth Wants Now
January 5 – 27 at Gallery NAGA
In January, Gallery NAGA reprises one of its liveliest and least predictable shows. The independent curator Meredyth Hyatt Moses is again given carte blanche to assemble her current enthusiasms into an exhibition. A self described “object person” with a taste for late 20th century ceramics and a catholic eye for painting, Moses has collected the works of 14 artists she’s encountered in the past two years.
Whatever Meredyth Wants Now runs from January 5 through 27. A reception for the artists, the curator, and the public will be held at the gallery on Friday, January 5 from 6 to 8 pm. In addition, Moses speaks about the exhibition and her engagement with the works on Saturday, January 13 at 2 pm.
The list of artists includes names well known to followers of ceramics and studio furniture; painters exhibited in New York and Boston galleries; and artists included in current museum exhibitions in this region:

Asked about the show, whose ruling principle is simply her preferences of the moment, Moses says, “Pulling disparate art objects and painting together in a show is a total turn-on for me. I love each work of art equally and recognize that they may share only a color, texture, material or nothing, but the process of installation and the privilege of being allowed to choose what I want is an amazing experience. There is such a joy in that freedom.”
