A Fresh Look
Meredyth Hyatt Moses Selects
January 7 — January
31 at Gallery NAGA
Meredyth Hyatt Moses is at it again. In making her third appearance
at Gallery NAGA as an independent curator, Moses has made a selection
of work based on her love of material. Moses’s gift for
uniting work that spans across media and styles have come to characterize
her biennial shows at Gallery NAGA.
A Fresh Look: Meredyth Hyatt Moses Selects runs from January
7 through 31. A reception for the artists, the curator, and
the public will be held at the gallery on Friday, January 9 from
6 to 8 pm.
Moses’s choices range from large scale, exuberant, abstract
painting to delicately drawn handmade paper disks hovering on a wall
surface, from a web of beads, mesh disks, feathers, coral and bone
hanging on strings from the ceiling to glass sculpture and carved
wooden wall-hung cabinets.
The list includes well-known and emerging artists from New England,
California, Florida, and North Carolina.

Asked to describe what she likes so much about independent curating, Moses
says, “Gallery NAGA has given me the freedom to express myself as a guest
curator three times over the past five years. It is a wonderful experience
to just choose what I want and to pull together an eclectic group of artists
working in many media and in many diverse geographic locations. The
thrill of seeing diversity in many media come together in the name of making
art has always been my main turn-on.”
Images of work will be available at gallerynaga.com on January 7.
